Petra Tratberger

Petra Tratberger is affiliated with the Vienna University of Teacher Education, where she works at the Competence Center STEM and Digitality (K:MID) under the Department for Media Education, Information Technology Education, and Digitality. She coordinates the focus area "Media Education and Basic Computer Science Education" and has dedicated her career to integrating digital media and technology into primary school curricula since 2015.

Her work centers on developing the Education Innovation Studio (EIS) at PH Wien and advancing the "Digital Media in Primary School" curriculum. Petra has led initiatives like the DLPL (Denken lernen – Probleme lösen) project, which introduced coding and robotics to 100 Austrian primary schools through EIS. She actively participates in the annual eBazar events, showcasing digital education innovations such as AI in classrooms and EduBreakouts. Additionally, she contributes to international projects like TAP-TS (Teaching Sustainability) and RoboCoop, emphasizing sustainable and collaborative digital pedagogy.

Petra facilitates teacher training workshops on tools like LEGO WeDo 2.0 and Beebots, promoting hands-on learning experiences. Her expertise spans media education, digital literacy, and computational thinking, with a focus on practical applications in primary education. She has coordinated the "Digitale Medienbildung in der Primarstufe" advanced training program and participated in symposia such as the PREPARE Erasmus+ project, which explored reflective teaching practices using e-portfolios.
