Petra Creamer is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Middle Eastern and South Asian Studies at Emory University. Her research focuses on Ancient Near Eastern archaeology, particularly Mesopotamia and the Assyrian Empire, with expertise in archaeological colonialism, landscape studies, and digital technologies like remote sensing. She holds a Ph.D. from the University of Pennsylvania and a B.A. in Anthropology from Ohio State University.
Her research explores themes such as imperial mortuary practices, Bronze Age settlements, and the intersection of technology with archaeological methodology. Notable projects include studies of Tell Basmaya, Tell Billa, and the Erbil Plain survey.
