Peter Wilhelmsson is an Associate Professor and Docent at Linköping University, affiliated with the Department of Biomedical and Clinical Sciences (BKV) and the Division of Inflammation and Infection (II). His research focuses on translational studies of infectious diseases, including tick-borne infections and COVID-19. He contributes to collaborative projects such as the ABOGRAFT study, investigating antibiotic use in hip replacement surgeries to prevent infections. His work emphasizes patient-centered approaches and interdisciplinary collaboration.
Research interests span immunology, infectious disease mechanisms, and clinical applications of translational medicine. Peter is part of a dynamic team exploring how water flux and aquaporins (AQP) influence cell migration processes relevant to health and disease.
