Prof. Peter Werkhoven is a Professor at Utrecht University's Faculty of Science, specializing in the Department of Information and Computing Sciences. He leads the Multimodal Interaction in Virtual Environments research group, focusing on perceptual and interactive aspects of simulated worlds, serious gaming applications, and advanced technologies like VR/AR, brain-machine interfaces, and autonomous systems control. He concurrently serves as Chief Scientific Officer (CSO) in the TNO Executive Board.
Research Interests: His work spans game research, virtual/augmented reality, human-computer interaction, multisensory perception, and intelligent systems. Current PhD topics include multisensory perception in immersive environments and meaningful control of autonomous systems.
