Peter Vincent is a Professor of Computational Fluid Dynamics in the Department of Aeronautics, Faculty of Engineering at Imperial College London. His research focuses on developing novel numerical methods for solving complex fluid flow problems across scientific and engineering domains. He specializes in theoretical aspects of high-order numerical methods for unstructured grids and their implementation on modern hardware platforms.
Professor Vincent's work spans computational mathematics, aerospace engineering, and high-performance computing, with applications ranging from Martian rotorcraft design to urban wind engineering. His recent publications emphasize industrial adoption of scale-resolving simulations, optimization techniques for extreme environments, and advanced algorithms for GPU architectures.
Through the PyFR project, he leads development of open-source computational frameworks that enable high-fidelity simulations on heterogeneous computing platforms. His collaborations extend to biomedical flows and wind engineering, demonstrating interdisciplinary impact.
