Antony Jameson is a Professor in the Department of Aerospace Engineering at Texas A&M University, holding the Jack E. & Frances Brown Chair in Engineering. He is affiliated with the Aerospace Computing Lab and the College of Engineering. His research focuses on fluid dynamics, computational mathematics, computational fluid dynamics (CFD), aircraft design, and control theory. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society and a Foreign Member of the National Academy of Engineering.
Jameson’s work emphasizes high-order numerical methods, including flux reconstruction and spectral difference schemes, with applications to unsteady aerodynamics, turbulence modeling, and large-eddy simulation (LES). He has contributed extensively to CFD software development (e.g., PyFR, ZEFR) and GPU-accelerated computing. His research also addresses inverse design problems, aerodynamic optimization, and active flow control for heavy vehicles.
Key publications span industrial CFD adoption, GPU-based adaptive frameworks, and high-fidelity simulations of complex flows (e.g., turbine blades, golf ball aerodynamics). His awards reflect recognition of contributions to computational science and engineering.
Jameson collaborates on projects involving structural wall modeling, mesh adaptation, and machine learning for CFD data recovery. His lab supports interdisciplinary efforts in aerospace design, fluid-structure interaction, and high-performance computing.
