Peter Verbeek is Associate Professor of Anthropology at UAB, researching the biological bases of peaceful behavior across species. His work examines relationships between aggression and peace in social animals.

Research investigates behavioral systems of peace at individual, group, and cultural levels, with focus on conflict resolution mechanisms. Verbeek studies both species-typical and species-atypical expressions of aggression and peace across diverse social species.
