Peter V. Milley is a Full Professor in the Faculty of Education at the University of Ottawa, where he serves as Director of the Centre for Research on Educational and Community Services (CRECS). His academic leadership spans educational administration, public sector leadership, and social innovation research.
Dr. Milley's educational background includes:
- Ph.D. in Educational Administration from the University of Victoria (2005)
- M.A. in Social History of Art from the University of Leeds, UK (1991)
- B.A. in English Literature from Simon Fraser University, Canada (1987)
With extensive professional experience in the Canadian federal public service and post-secondary institutions, Dr. Milley has developed expertise in executive leadership development and policy research. His international work spans Brazil, China, the Netherlands, Singapore, and the United Kingdom.
His research focuses on leadership processes in educational and community settings, particularly examining how universities initiate, scale, and sustain social innovations. His scholarly work addresses critical issues including populism's impact on educational leadership, maladministration in higher education, and refugee education policy alignment with UN frameworks.
