Peter Styring is a Professor of Chemical Engineering & Chemistry at the University of Sheffield. He serves as an Associate Fellow in the Understanding of Politics and leads the Styring Research Group, which focuses on CO2 reduction and reuse through circular economy principles.
- Research spans technical, economic, and societal impacts of carbon usage
- Active in carbon capture policy and public engagement through film production
Research Interests:
- Next-generation carbon capture technologies
- Conversion of CO2 into value-added products (polymers, fuels, chemicals)
- Accelerating technology commercialisation from discovery to manufacture
- Development of novel catalysts for climate change mitigation
- Policy development at national and global scales
- Leadership in CO2Chem Network (900+ members)
