Peter Smith (Peadar Mac Gabhann), a Senior Lecturer in Irish at Ulster University since 2000, has held positions as Assistant Professor in Irish at the University of Notre Dame and Lecturer in Celtic at the University of Bonn. He is a founding member of Éigse Cholm Cille, promoting Irish literary heritage in the North West of Ireland.

Scientific Contributions: Recent publications center on medieval Irish texts and interdisciplinary studies of Irish literature in County Louth. His research aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly in cultural preservation and linguistic heritage.
