Dr.-Ing. Peter Scherer is a research assistant at Saarland University's Chair of Systems Theory and Control Engineering since 2019. He holds an M.Sc. in Systems Engineering (2019) and B.Sc. in Mechatronics (2016) from the same institution.
- Current role: Researcher in control engineering
- Specializes in model-free control and state reconstruction techniques
- Works on electro-hydraulic systems and soft actuator control
- Recipient of Deutschlandstipendium scholarship (2015-2017)
His research focuses on hybrid control methodologies combining model-based and data-driven approaches for mechatronic systems. Recent work includes electro-hydraulic system control, magnetic levitation applications, and soft robotics.
Scientific contributions appear in leading journals like Control Engineering Practice and conference proceedings of IFAC World Congress. Current projects involve EFRE-funded initiatives on flexible product engineering.
- 2025: Published on model-free control tuning
- 2024: Magnet support plate control
- 2023: Hybrid electro-hydraulic system control
- 2020: Dielectric elastomer actuator control
