Peter Scammells is a Professor in Medicinal Chemistry at Monash University’s Faculty of Pharmacy & Pharmaceutical Sciences. He serves as Theme Leader at the Monash Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Associate Dean, Research, for his faculty.

Research Interests:
- Allosteric modulators and bitopic ligands targeting GPCRs
- Noscapine-based cancer therapeutics
- Semisynthetic opioid methodology
- M1/M17 aminopeptidase inhibitors for malaria
- Applications of ionic liquids in pharmaceutical synthesis
Recent Publications highlight his work on antimalarial strategies, neurocognitive disorder treatments, and receptor labeling techniques.
Scientific Awards:
- Co-inventor on 3 patents (2015-2016)
Grants: Led projects funded by the Australian Research Council (ARC) and National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC), including multidisciplinary antimalarial drug discovery initiatives.
