Peter S Navario

Clinical Associate Professor of Public Health Policy and Management at New York University, Dr. Peter S Navario is also the CEO of HealthRight International. His work focuses on HIV/AIDS treatment programs, health system capacity building in sub-Saharan Africa, and addressing gender-based violence (GBV) in conflict zones. He has held roles with the Botswana Ministry of Health, World Bank, UNAIDS, and the Council on Foreign Relations.

Education: BA in Psychology and French (Lehigh University), MPH in Global Health (Yale University), and PhD in Health Economics (University of Cape Town).

Research interests include global health policy, HIV/AIDS prevention, health economics, and marginalized populations. His recent work examines GBV among displaced women in Ukraine, substance use among young adults in correctional systems, and HIV risk behaviors in humanitarian settings.

Publications highlight trends in GBV in conflict settings, HIV/AIDS policy in high-risk populations, and mental health crises in emergencies. His work with HealthRight International integrates NYU collaborations for global health leadership and training.

Advisory roles include UNAIDS initiatives on Sustainable Development Goals and editorial board membership at the Journal of Global Health Governance.
