Peter Rosenquist is a Professor and Interim Chair in the Department of Psychiatry and Health Behavior at the Medical College of Georgia, Augusta University. He also serves as Vice Chair and holds the Leon Henri Charbonnier Endowed Chair in Psychiatry. He has been a key faculty member since 2012 and directs the Therapeutic Neurostimulation program, reflecting his leadership in clinical neuroscience and psychiatric treatment innovation.
Research Interests: Dr. Rosenquist specializes in severe mood disorders, suicide prevention, and advanced brain stimulation therapies such as electroconvulsive therapy (ECT), transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS), and vagus nerve stimulation (VNS). His work also explores autonomic nervous system responses in psychiatric illness, particularly heart rate variability as a biomarker. His research bridges clinical practice and neuroscience to improve outcomes in treatment-resistant conditions.
Recent Research Trends: His recent publications highlight his focus on neuromodulation for depression and catatonia, ethical and diagnostic challenges in forensic and palliative psychiatry, and pharmacological management of insomnia in depressed patients.
