Professor Peter Pham is a faculty member in the Finance Discipline at the University of Sydney Business School, with a prior position at UNSW Sydney's School of Banking and Finance. He holds a PhD in Finance from Monash University (2004). His research focuses on corporate finance, entrepreneurial finance, and financial markets, with a particular emphasis on venture capital, ownership structures, and multinational firms. His work has been published in top-tier journals such as Journal of Finance, Review of Financial Studies, and Management Science.
Pham has secured grants from the Australian Research Council (Discovery and Linkages) and has taught courses on corporate finance, banking, and venture capital. His research findings have been featured in media outlets like Bloomberg News and Institutional Investor Magazine. He currently advises a PhD student, Yinglin GU, on a project exploring geopolitical risk in supply chains.
His recent work includes studies on crises-driven corporate growth strategies, cross-border firm expansions, and the strategic role of family business groups. He has also contributed to understanding venture capital financing dynamics and the impact of corporate governance on capital costs.
