Peter Ott

Peter Ott has been a Full-Time Professor of Film and Video at Merz Akademie since 2007. From 2017 to 2023, he served as Dean of the department. As a filmmaker, he works across multiple roles including writer, director, producer, cameraman, editor, and actor, creating both feature films and documentaries.

His creative output includes experimental installations and educational collaborations like the 100 Sekunden Kunst series for SWR.

Publications include co-editing the academic volume REMEDIATE. At the Margins of Film, Web, and Archive (2013), which explores the relationship between cinematic practices, digital archives, and media theory.
