Peter Mergaert

Peter Mergaert is a Researcher at Université Paris-Saclay, affiliated with the Institute for Integrative Biology of the Cell (I2BC) under CNRS. Since 2015, he leads the Plant-Bacteria Interactions group, focusing on symbiotic and pathogenic plant-bacteria interactions and insect gut symbiosis. His team comprises ~20 members including researchers, technicians, PhD students, and postdocs. He has held leadership roles in academic institutions since 1999 and was a visiting scientist in Japan.
