Peter McAlindon, Ph.D., is an Entrepreneur-in-Residence at the Crummer Graduate School of Business at Rollins College, where he also serves as a faculty advisor to students in the Entrepreneurial Scholar of Distinction (ESD) program. He is the founder and CEO of Blue Orb Inc., developer of the orbiTouch Keyless Keyboard, an assistive technology device for individuals with physical disabilities. McAlindon is a co-founder of venVelo, Florida’s newest business accelerator and seed capital fund.
Education: BBA (University of Michigan), MAS (Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University), Ph.D. (University of Central Florida). His expertise spans entrepreneurship, angel capital investment, human-computer interaction, and product design. He has secured over $5 million in angel funding and multiple NSF SBIR grants, including a current three-year grant supporting entrepreneurship among people with disabilities.
McAlindon’s work focuses on translating innovative technologies into market-ready solutions, particularly in assistive technologies. His orbiTouch product received the daVinci Design Award and top honors at the Consumer Electronics Show for accessible technology. He mentors student teams commercializing NASA technologies through the ESD program, emphasizing innovation and social impact.
