Peter Maille, Ph.D., is a Professor in the Department of Economics at Eastern Oregon University's College of Business. He holds a Ph.D. in Natural Resource Economics from West Virginia University and an M.S. in Forestry from Yale School of Forestry and Environmental Studies. Prior to academia, his career included roles as a Peace Corps Volunteer, non-profit worker, federal employee, and small business owner. His teaching focuses on Microeconomics, Econometrics, and Environmental Economics.
Dr. Maille's research specializes in environmental and development economics, particularly examining performance-based payment systems for water quality improvements and farmer participation in conservation programs. His work bridges theory and practice, addressing issues like incentive mechanisms for sustainable resource management and policy design.
