معرفی
Peter Lindquist is a Research Fellow at the Department of Biomedical Sciences, Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences, University of Copenhagen, specializing in Molecular and Translational Pharmacology. His research primarily focuses on receptor pharmacology, particularly related to gut hormones and their implications in metabolic disorders.
Dr. Lindquist's research interests center on molecular mechanisms of hormone receptors, particularly glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide (GIP) receptors and glucagon-like peptide (GLP) receptors. His work spans receptor pharmacology, signal transduction, genetic variants of metabolic receptors, and therapeutic peptide development. He has made significant contributions to understanding how genetic variations in hormone receptors affect metabolic phenotypes and how these insights can inform drug development for diabetes and related metabolic disorders.
His recent publications demonstrate a strong focus on translational aspects of receptor pharmacology, with particular emphasis on GIP and GLP receptor systems. His research shows how alterations in receptor structure affect function, how genetic variants influence metabolic outcomes, and how engineered peptides might serve as therapeutic agents. This work bridges basic molecular pharmacology with clinical applications in metabolic disease.
Dr. Lindquist actively collaborates with leading researchers in the field of endocrinology and diabetes research at the University of Copenhagen, including Professor Mette Rosenkilde, Professor Jens Juul Holst, and other prominent scientists in the Department of Biomedical Sciences.
