Professor Peter Leyland is a Senior Teaching Fellow in Comparative Public Law and Researcher in comparative constitutional and administrative law at the School of Law, Gender and Media at SOAS University of London. He holds visiting professorships at the University of Bologna, University of Ferrara, and Bocconi University in Milan. His academic qualifications include a BA, MA from the University of London, and a Diploma in Education.
His research focuses on public law, comparative constitutional frameworks, and administrative law with a specialization in Thai legal history. He has lectured globally, including in Canada, Australia, Italy, Thailand, and contributed to international conferences. Notable works include analyses of UK devolution challenges, Thailand’s bureaucratic state origins, and critical evaluations of the UK’s Rwanda asylum policy.

His work bridges theoretical legal analysis with practical governance issues, emphasizing cross-jurisdictional comparisons.
