معرفی
Peter Keir is a Professor in the Department of Kinesiology at McMaster University's Faculty of Science. His research spans biomechanics, occupational health, and rehabilitation engineering with a focus on upper extremity disorders and ergonomic interventions.
- Ph.D. in Kinesiology, University of Waterloo (1995)
- BSc Honours in Kinesiology, University of Waterloo (1989)
- Postdoctoral Fellow, University of California San Francisco/Berkeley (1995-1997)
His research interests include biomechanics of carpal tunnel syndrome, physical ergonomics, musculoskeletal health, and ergonomic assessment tools. He investigates how workplace design, repetitive motion, and physiological factors influence injury risk and rehabilitation outcomes.
Recent publications analyze markerless motion capture, neuromuscular adaptations to fatigue, and tendon mechanics in occupational settings. His work integrates biomechanical modeling with clinical applications to address work-related musculoskeletal disorders.
As teaching faculty, he instructs courses in ergonomics, clinical biomechanics, and advanced biomechanics techniques, mentoring students in human movement analysis and injury prevention strategies.
