Peter Jenkins

Peter Jenkins is a Professor of Biology and Geology at CSU, where he has been employed since 2004. He also serves as Director of the Master of Science in Biology program since 2016. Jenkins’ research spans environmental toxicology, marine science, and geology. His work examines heavy metal contaminant bioavailability and toxicity in marine environments, focusing on their effects on marine organisms. Additionally, he studies stable isotopic records in Lake Baikal sediments from the Academician Ridge to understand geological and environmental changes over time.

Prior to joining CSU, Jenkins worked at the National Ocean Service (NOS) as a research chemist and toxicologist until 2004, where he conducted doctoral research on metal contamination in marine ecosystems.
