Peter He is the George E. & Dorothy Stafford Uthlaut Endowed Professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering at Auburn University. He holds a Ph.D. and M.S. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Texas and a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Tsinghua University.
Research Interests: His work integrates systems engineering with machine learning and data analytics to address challenges in

- bioplastics from organic waste
Grants & Collaborations: He co-leads projects funded by the NSF, USDA, DOE, and Alabama’s Department of Economic and Community Affairs, focusing on sustainable aquaculture, methane abatement, and bioplastic feasibility. His lab (DE-PSE) emphasizes synergies between domain knowledge and artificial intelligence.
Scientific Engagement: He served on the organizing committee for the 2022 Advanced Manufacturing Conference and the 2021 International Conference on Industry 4.0. His group has trained students like Alex Summers and Farnaz Yousefi Zowj, who have achieved publication prominence and academic recognition.
