Peter Haimerl

Peter Haimerl is a Professor of Architecture at the Institute for Spatial Development and Design, University of Art and Design Linz. As a practicing architect since 1991, he leads Studio zoomtown and focuses on innovative architectural solutions that transcend conventional boundaries through interdisciplinary collaboration.

His research interests include:

• Urban Design via the zoomtown project—an open research platform since 2000 for optimizing urban environments.
• Sustainable Architecture and building renovation under the motto "More Value with History".
• Rural Building Culture through the HAUS.PATEN Bayerwald initiative in the Bavarian Forest, exemplified by projects like the "Denkerhaus am Schedlberg".

Haimerl integrates architecture with computer programming, sociology, economics, and conceptual art to develop holistic concepts addressing complex urban and cultural challenges.
