Peter Hagelstein

Peter L. Hagelstein is Associate Professor of Electrical Engineering at MIT, where he researches semiconductor technology for energy conversion, EUV/X-ray lasers, and low-energy nuclear reactions. He received the Ernest Orlando Lawrence Award for innovations in X-ray laser physics.

His current work focuses on developing efficient thermal-to-electric conversion technologies and investigating fundamental quantum processes in energy systems. Hagelstein co-authored the textbook 'Introductory Applied Quantum and Statistical Mechanics' and chaired the Tenth International Conference on Cold Fusion.
