Professor Peter Groote is a renowned academic at the University of Groningen, affiliated with the Faculty of Spatial Sciences and the Urban and Regional Studies Institute. His research focuses on Historical GIS, Heritage Studies, Economic History, and Deathscapes. He has supervised multiple PhD candidates, including studies on heritage site management, municipal amalgamations, and post-disaster tourism regeneration in Beirut.
