Peter Goodrich is a Professor of Law and Director of the Program in Law and Humanities at Cardozo School of Law, Yeshiva University, and a Visiting Professor at New York University Abu Dhabi. He previously served as the founding Dean of Birkbeck’s School of Law (University of London) from the 1990s, where he revitalized the institution. He holds a PhD in Law and Linguistics from the University of Edinburgh (1984) and an LLB from the University of Sheffield (1975).
His research focuses on critical legal theory, law’s intersection with humanities, psychoanalysis, and historical discourses. Notable works include explorations of legal rhetoric, memory, and radical legal practices. He has authored over 12 books and numerous articles, blending legal scholarship with aesthetics, film, and culinary arts.
