Peter Forsgren is a Professor of Literary Studies at Linnaeus University since 2007. He previously held positions as a Senior Lecturer at the University of Gothenburg (1992–96) and Blekinge University of Technology (1997–2007), focusing on undergraduate literary education. Research Interests: Forsgren specializes in 20th-century Swedish prose with emphases on reading practices, dialogicity, genre, gender, modernity, and postcolonial perspectives. His current project, "To map oneself in a colonised world: Swedish travel literature 1919–1939 and the global legacies of the Enlightenment", examines Swedish travel narratives from Africa through colonial discourse, intertextuality, and gender/ethnicity dynamics. His prior work includes Swedish Research Council-funded studies on Norrland's portrayal as a colony/utopia in Olof Högberg's and Ludvig Nordström's novels, and feminist critiques of Elin Wägner's Småland novels.
Article Trends: Forsgren's scholarship bridges postcolonial theory, Swedish literary canon, gender analysis, and modernist experimentation. He frequently explores intertextuality, colonial legacies, and intersections of class, ethnicity, and cultural identity.
Education: Forsgren earned his Doctoral Degree in 1992 with the thesis "Att lyssna med ögat: Studier i Peder Sjögrens 1940-talsromaner", analyzing 1940s novels by Peder Sjögren.
