Peter Dixon

Peter Dixon is an Assistant Professor, Teaching Stream (CLTA) in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Toronto’s Faculty of Mathematical and Computational Sciences. His research focuses on otologic conditions, cochlear implant outcomes, surgical interventions, and healthcare policy. He is affiliated with the Mississauga campus and specializes in translating computational methodologies to address clinical challenges in audiology and neurosurgery.

Key research interests include hearing preservation strategies, telehealth implications for audiology, and the application of machine learning to predict surgical outcomes. His work spans epidemiological studies of socioeconomic disparities in healthcare access and advanced statistical analyses of medical interventions.

Recent work has examined post-COVID otologic complications, facial nerve preservation in neurosurgery, and the psychosocial impacts of tinnitus. He collaborates across disciplines to improve healthcare delivery through evidence-based approaches and innovative technologies.
