Peter Davis

Peter Davis is a Clinical Research Fellow at the Nuffield Department of Medicine, University of Oxford, primarily engaged in the SARS-CoV-2 controlled human challenge model within Professor McShane’s research group. He concurrently serves as a Clinical Lecturer at Jesus College, teaching undergraduate pathology.

His academic qualifications include:

• MBBS from Imperial College London
• Clinical training in London and Glasgow
• Specialist training in Infectious Diseases and Microbiology at the University of Oxford

Dr. Davis's research centers on immune responses to infection and management of complex post-operative infections, with significant contributions to tuberculosis studies, gonococcal vaccine development, and novel R21/Matrix-M malaria vaccine administration schedules. His current SARS-CoV-2 challenge model work aims to advance understanding of coronavirus immunity and infection dynamics.

He maintains active affiliations with the Tuberculosis research group and Professor McShane’s team at the Nuffield Department of Medicine.
