Peter Cross is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Central Lancashire, affiliated with the School of Law and Policing. He serves as Course Leader for the MSc Forensic Anthropology and MSc Taphonomy and Death Sciences programs, and is a module leader for undergraduate courses in Forensic Anthropology and The Science and Management of Death.
His research expertise centers on forensic taphonomy and death sciences, with a strong focus on experimental studies of human decomposition. He manages the UCLan Taphonomic Research Facilities, including the TRACES (Taphonomic Research in Anthropology-Centre for Experimental Studies) field site, which supports vital research in forensic anthropology.
Peter's work contributes significantly to the understanding of postmortem processes under controlled environmental conditions, supporting both academic and applied forensic investigations.
He holds various internal academic responsibilities and contributes to the advancement of forensic science education and research at UCLan.
