Daniel J. Wescott is a Professor of Anthropology at Texas State University and Director of the Forensic Anthropology Center (FACTS). His primary affiliation is with the Department of Anthropology, focusing on forensic anthropology, bone biomechanics, human skeletal variation, and bioarchaeology. He holds a B.A. (magna cum laude, 1994) and M.A. (1996) in Biological Anthropology from Wichita State University.

He leads projects on postmortem interval estimation, decomposition dynamics, and forensic archaeology. His work utilizes interdisciplinary approaches, integrating metabolomics, proteomics, and geophysical imaging.
