Dr. Peter Coburger is a Research Fellow at the Technical University of Munich's School of Natural Sciences, leading an Emmy Noether research group in the Department of Inorganic Chemistry. His work focuses on developing sustainable catalytic approaches using phosphorus-centered biradicaloid ligands to enable first-row transition metals and main-group elements to mimic noble metal behavior in olefin functionalization.
Research combines experimental and theoretical methods to explore ligand design, redox non-innocent behavior, and cooperative effects in catalysis. Key publications demonstrate expertise in novel ligand synthesis, cluster chemistry, and mechanistic studies of metal-phosphorus systems.
Awards include the prestigious Emmy-Noether Fellowship (2024), Liebig Fellowship (2023), and multiple research grants from German scientific foundations recognizing his contributions to inorganic chemistry and catalysis.
