Peter Clement Lund is a Postdoctoral Researcher and Research Assistant in the Department of Communication and Psychology at Aalborg University, Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities. He is actively engaged in research, teaching, and public outreach, focusing on the sociocultural dimensions of grief, mental health, and diagnosis.
His educational background includes a PhD in Psychology, awarded in 2022, with a dissertation on the transformation of grief from existential emotion to pathological condition. His research is grounded in qualitative methods, critical theory, and existential sociology.
Lund’s research interests span qualitative methods, the sociology of grief, existential and cultural psychology, diagnosis in society, ADHD and anxiety, and contemporary cultural phenomena such as achievement culture and climate psychology. He employs a distinctive 'gonzo sociology' methodology, blending ethnographic fieldwork with personal engagement. His current work is part of the PLACES project, which explores how social, cultural, and spatial contexts interact with ADHD and anxiety.
His recent publications (2020–2025) reflect a consistent focus on grief, death, diagnosis, and cultural critique, with increasing engagement in public discourse through media contributions and lectures. The articles show a trajectory from theoretical deconstruction of Prolonged Grief Disorder to explorations of grief in popular culture and societal anxiety, indicating a broadening impact from academic to public spheres.
