Dr. Peter Cherry is a Lecturer in the Department of History of Art and Architecture at Trinity College Dublin. His research focuses on 17th-century Spanish and Italian visual art, including art production, market dynamics, patronage in Seville, and the role of plague in artistic expression. He is currently writing a book on Velázquez's portraiture. Dr. Cherry teaches undergraduate modules on Italian Renaissance painting/sculpture, 17th-century European art, and a seminar on art and religion in the Hispanic world.
