معرفی
Peter Cardone serves as a full-time Lecturer in the Department of Art and Design at the State University of New York at Oswego, specializing in photography instruction and conceptual visual research.
His educational foundation includes:
- MFA in Studio Art - Photography from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (2008)
- BFA in Photographic Illustration from the Rochester Institute of Technology (2004)
Cardone's artistic research investigates the psychological and geographic dimensions of water bodies through a distinctive elevation-based framing methodology. His ongoing photographic series examines how lakes and oceans simultaneously root communities in specific places while triggering transcendent memories across vast distances. This work explores the tension between physical presence and emotional absence, using vertically composed images to create conceptual bridges between geographically disparate locations. The resulting color photographs analyze water's dual role as both orientation tool and memory catalyst within human experience of landscape.
Students may engage with his expertise through departmental photography courses and scheduled consultations. Office hours for Fall 2025 are available in-person at Tyler Hall Room 230A or via Zoom during specified weekday hours, with alternative appointments accessible through his online booking system.
