Peter Bryant

Peter Bryant serves as a Visiting Senior Fellow in Environmental and Energy Research within the Research Directorate. He is concurrently employed by EDF (UK) New Nuclear Build Project at Sizewell C, where he leads the Environment, Sustainability, Radiation Protection and Emergency Preparedness Teams.

His research spans critical domains in nuclear environmental management:

• Radiological Assessment

He maintains significant international influence through key appointments:

• Member of the International Commission on Radiation Protection Task Group 120 on Radiological Protection for Radiation Emergencies and Malicious Events
• Member of the OECD Nuclear Energy Agency Expert Group on International Recommendations (EGIR)
• Member of the World Nuclear Association Radiation Protection Working Group
• Vice Chair of the International Radiation Protection Association Group on Public Understanding

He previously served as President of the Society for Radiological Protection, the UK's Chartered Professional Body for Radiation Safety and Radioactive Waste Management, and has authored the book "Airborne Radioactive Discharges and Human Health Effects" alongside multiple peer-reviewed publications.
