Peter Brooks

Peter Brooks is Associate Professor in the School of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Leeds and Deputy Director of the Institute for High Speed Rail and System Integration. His research focuses on braking system dynamics, friction material tribology, and rail vehicle testing methodologies.

Holds BSc and PhD in Mechanical Engineering from Leeds. Leads development of full-scale rail Vehicle Test Facility for dynamic characterization of rolling stock. Industrial collaborations include automotive brake NVH reduction and lightweight material development.

Teaches automotive engineering courses and supervises industry-linked student projects. Chartered Engineer (CEng) with membership in IMechE.
