Peter Boyer is Professor of Music and holds the Helen M. Smith Chair in Music at Claremont Graduate University. He is a leading American orchestral composer and conductor whose works are frequently performed by major orchestras across the United States and internationally.

Notable works like Ellis Island: The Dream of America and The Dream Lives On: A Portrait of the Kennedy Brothers combine narrative, orchestral, and choral elements, demonstrating a strong interdisciplinary approach. His music has been performed at Carnegie Hall, the Hollywood Bowl, and the Kennedy Center, and recorded with the London Symphony, Philharmonia, and London Philharmonic Orchestras.
