Peter Bowman

Peter Bowman is an Assistant Professor at the University of Maryland School of Medicine, with primary appointments in Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Science and secondary appointments in Orthopaedics. He serves as Director of Physical Therapy for University of Maryland Orthopaedics and teaches in the Doctor of Physical Therapy program.

His research focuses on orthopaedic rehabilitation, manual therapy, and blood flow restriction therapy, with recent work analyzing METRC RCT studies comparing early versus delayed weight-bearing and usual care physical therapy with blood flow restricted training. His publications emphasize case-based approaches to shoulder pain, post-stroke recovery, and sports injury management.
