Peter Bell

His research program centers on the application of rare human variants to elucidate fundamental biological mechanisms and disease pathogenesis. Key interests include:

• Immunology and immunological diseases
• Proteolysis and defective proteolytic processes
• Genetic studies of rare variants
• Degradomics methodologies for unbiased substrate identification
• The role of MALT1 (a human paracaspase) in health and disease

Currently, Dr. Bell is employing degradomics workflows to investigate how MALT1 contributes to immunological disorders, with the goal of uncovering novel therapeutic targets.
