Peter Beazley

Peter Beazley is a Clinical Associate Professor at the Department of Clinical Psychology and Psychological Therapies within Norwich Medical School, University of East Anglia. He serves as Deputy Programme Director for the Clinical Psychology Doctorate (ClinPsyD) and Professionalism Lead, focusing on training future mental health professionals. His roles include Admissions Director and leadership in the Mental Health Law CPD programme. He holds a First Class BA in Experimental Psychology from Oxford University, a DClinPsy from King's College London, and an LLM in Mental Health Law from Northumbria University.

His research interests span forensic psychology, mental health law, psychosis, personality disorders, and risk assessment. He actively contributes to safeguarding reviews and acts as an expert witness in criminal, civil, and mental health tribunals. Peter has extensive experience in secure services management and clinical practice, including work with offenders with mental health challenges. He teaches on topics such as forensic assessment, mental capacity, and safeguarding.

Recent publications address mental health legislation, malingering assessment, stigma reduction, and criminal justice system dynamics. His work bridges clinical practice, legal frameworks, and systemic healthcare improvement.
