Peter Baillie

Peter Baillie is an Adjunct Research Fellow at the School of Earth and Oceans, The University of Western Australia. An experienced geoscientist, he has worked across industry, government, and academia with principal interests in the origin and resource potential of sedimentary basins.

His research spans basin analysis, tectonics, sedimentary geology, and historical geology, contributing to energy resource exploration. Recent publications (2022-2025) focus on Southeast Asian and Australian geology, including detailed studies of Timor-Leste, Sulawesi, Makassar Strait, and Tasmania, integrating tectonic, stratigraphic, and paleontological approaches.
