Dr. Noël's research interests span multiple areas of medical imaging technology development:
- Harmonization of hardware and software in CT systems for integrated clinical solutions
- Photon-counting CT technology development and clinical implementation
- 3D printed CT phantoms for evaluation and standardization
- Patient-specific lung phantoms for respiratory motion applications
- Basic x-ray physics including phase-contrast and dark-field imaging
- Quantitative spectral CT imaging and thermometry
His publication record includes more than 190 peer-reviewed publications in international journals and a patent portfolio in x-ray and CT imaging. Dr. Noël's recent work demonstrates a strong focus on spectral CT applications, phantom development, and clinical translation of novel CT technologies. His research spans from fundamental physics to clinical implementation, with particular emphasis on quantitative imaging, artifact reduction, and patient-specific modeling.
Dr. Noël has made significant contributions to understanding photon-counting CT stability, spectral quantification methods, and the development of advanced CT phantoms. His work on PixelPrint technology represents a major innovation in creating lifelike, patient-specific imaging phantoms that bridge the gap between engineering innovation and clinical application.
His laboratory works closely with clinicians to ensure that technological innovations directly address clinical needs. Current research projects include developing deformable CT phantoms for respiratory motion applications, investigating cardiovascular applications of photon-counting CT, and creating advanced methods for metal artifact reduction in spectral CT.
