Petar Bojanić is a Full Professor of Philosophy at the University of Belgrade and Director of the Center for Advanced Studies at the University of Rijeka. He also leads the Center for Ethics, Law and Applied Philosophy and serves as President of the Institute for Democratic Engagement Southeast Europe, Belgrade. His academic journey includes studies at the University of Belgrade and the École des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales in Paris, culminating in a PhD from Paris X (Nanterre) on 'La guerre (dernière) et l’institution de la philosophie.' He has held visiting professorships at institutions such as Cornell, Aberdeen, and currently at Turin and Rijeka.
Bojanić’s research focuses on war ethics, violence, Jewish political theory, and institutional structures. His work integrates architectural concepts and counter-institutional frameworks. Notable projects include leading a Russian Science Foundation-funded study on the ethics of war in Orthodox Christian contexts and serving as a fellow at the Käte-Hamburger Kolleg in Bonn. He co-edits the journal Khorein, exploring architecture and philosophy.
His recent publications include In-Statuere (2022), Ethics of War in Orthodox Christian Countries (2022), and Violence and Messianism (2018). Current projects involve books on architectural concepts and the philosophy of touch/gesture.
Bojanić has directed the Institute for Philosophy and Social Theory at the University of Belgrade (2010–2019) and led numerous research initiatives. His interdisciplinary approach bridges philosophy, law, and socio-political activism, reflecting his engagement with both theoretical and applied domains.
