Pernille Nielsen

Pernille Nielsen is a Senior Researcher at the National Institute of Aquatic Resources (DTU Aqua), Section for Coastal Ecology, Technical University of Denmark. She focuses on marine ecology, aquaculture, and coastal ecosystem management, particularly concerning mussel fisheries and biogenic reefs. Her work aligns with UN Sustainable Development Goals related to marine conservation and climate-adaptive strategies.

Her research includes eco-engineering for blue infrastructure, sustainable development of blue mussel production, and mapping coastal fisheries. She supervises PhD students and collaborates on projects involving mussel restoration, habitat vulnerability, and marine biodiversity.

Recent publications highlight her contributions to marine policy, fisheries management, and habitat restoration. She actively participates in conferences and collaborative projects across Denmark and the Atlantic basin.
