Pernille Klock Rist-Christensen

Pernille Klock Rist-Christensen is a Doctoral Research Fellow at the Department of Teacher Education and School Research, University of Oslo, under the Faculty of Educational Sciences. Her work focuses on the intersection of teacher education, assessment practices, and institutional structures shaping pre-service teaching experiences.

Her academic interests include:

• Assessment and mentoring in teaching practice
• Teacher learning and development
• Social studies education
• Institutional ethnography
• Teaching methodology

Her current research employs ethnographic methods such as interviews, observations, and reflective notes to explore how mentors and pre-service teachers engage in assessment work during teaching practice. The study seeks to uncover both individual experiences and broader institutional influences on this process.

Although no publications are currently listed, her PhD project titled Assessment of pre-service teachers practice indicates a strong focus on improving the quality and effectiveness of teaching practicum through critical analysis of assessment frameworks and mentorship dynamics.

She has prior professional experience as an advisor and senior advisor at Utdanningsforbundet (2022–2024) and as an advisor at NITO (2021–2022), demonstrating engagement with educational policy and teacher support systems.

She holds a Master of Advanced Teacher Education (level 8–13) from the University of Agder (2014–2020) and is currently pursuing her PhD at the University of Oslo since 2024.
