Pernilla Lagergren

Professor Pernilla Lagergren holds the part-time Chair in Surgical Care Sciences at Imperial College London's Department of Surgery & Cancer (Faculty of Medicine). She leads cancer survivorship research, focusing on improving patient and family quality of life through patient-reported outcomes. As Chair of the Healthcare Professional Academic Group (HPAG), she advocates for non-medical clinical academics, fostering collaboration across Imperial College AHSC's 190+ members.

Education & Career: Previously at Karolinska Institutet, she transitioned to Imperial in 2018. Her academic journey includes a 2009 Swedish Research Council-funded assistant professorship and postdoctoral training (2007).

Research Interests: Integrates oncology, clinical sciences, and nursing with patient-centered methodologies. Specializes in gastrointestinal cancer survivorship, PEG procedure improvements, and multidisciplinary healthcare research.
