معرفی
Per Morten Fredriksen is a Professor at the Department of Nursing, Health and laboratory science within the Faculty of Health, Welfare and Organisation at the University of South-Eastern Norway. His research is primarily conducted through the Health Oriented Pedagogical Project (HOPP), a longitudinal school-based intervention program investigating physical activity and health outcomes in Norwegian children aged 6-12 years.
His academic interests focus on pediatric cardiovascular health, school-based physical activity interventions, and metabolic health in children. Key research areas include establishing reference intervals for pediatric biomarkers, investigating waist-to-height ratio as a predictor of cardiometabolic health, and examining the relationship between physical activity, cognitive function, and academic performance. His work frequently employs retinal microcirculation analysis and anthropometric measurements to assess cardiovascular health in children.
Analysis of recent publications reveals strong emphasis on longitudinal cohort studies within Norwegian primary schools, with particular attention to how physical activity interventions affect cardiovascular metrics, academic outcomes, and psychosocial health. The HOPP project serves as the central framework for most investigations, generating population-specific reference data while exploring intervention efficacy.
Fredriksen maintains active collaborations with researchers across multiple institutions, particularly with Asgeir Mamen and Morten Lindberg. His work demonstrates consistent methodological rigor through controlled longitudinal designs and innovative measurement techniques including retinal imaging and hair biomarker analysis.
